What do Mims, Webstar and Jim Jones all have in common? They all are New York artists who make generic music mimicking the south.

Alot of people said that the once trend setting New York Hip Hop scene lost its place as the pulse of this genre over the last decade.

And if that's true then you can listen up and hear the cries of the fans begging for that trade mark grittiness.

The quick pace lifestyle of the Big Apple requires complex lyrical domination and substance music. You can no longer turn on the Hot 97's and Power 105's anymore for that outlet. Good thing there is the internet.

And without the internet, in this present day climate, you might not have heard of Dro Pesci. And if that's the case then you probobally would miss one hell of a mixtape. That mixtape we speak of is ..Dro Pesci's newest work, "When I Blow Up Don't Show Up 2."

The mixtape kicks off with Dro saying a few words in his raspy East coast accent. After that the sounds of "Rep" set the tone for this project. E.R.O.C. provides some essential mixing for this project. He brings back the first few bars of Dro and then all of a sudden it hits us. We are in for something monumental.

You can tell Dro has been influenced by the Big Punisher's and Nas's and has a nitch for those Havoc sounding beats. "Tuff Shit", "Cold Street" and "People" have Dro in his comfort zone. Dro isn't concerned with auto tune and bling .. as a matter of fact on "People" he spits, "my real hiphop fans staying true to the cause/ 5 mics anytime I write, I do it for yall/.

Dro brings in some of the team for "Three's Company." Hearing Dro, Murdok and Nems is like hearing a young Ghost, Raekwon and Cappadonna trading bars. Dro spits from the soul on "Dear God" and spits from the gut on
"Mad Man." Bootkamp's Rustee Juxx makes an appearance on "War Path." The Brooklyn Staten     Island connection proved to be a deadly concoction. There are so many stand outs on this project.

Dro Pesci put in a lot of work on this project. Just the complex lyrics alone take an artist alot of time. Giving this out for free is a gift, so make sure to return the favor when Dro drops that album. After hearing this we are looking forward to anything else coming from the young gunner. And all the people that burned bridges remember .. when he blows up .. don't show up!!
