Ever heard the expression "fish out of water"...

well... if not, then check out the Khaki Blue and Whiplash collabo EP, called "The West Aussie EP."

This project combines the wild style of Australia's Whiplash with the laid back west coast gangster flow of Khaki Blue.

No one seen this coming. It is def. a bold move for two on the come up artists to combine like this and work on a project together.

It's public knowledge this duo first heard each others material earlier in the year on the Digital Dynasty Album and they contacted each other and started cutting tracks.

Talk about real recognize real. They both had one thing in common and that was they both had the New Jersey monster, Tha Advocate, hosting their former mixtapes.

Now they re-inlisted Advo to host the project. When we first got the download it went something like this.

The intro kicks off with Denzel Washington and his no non-sense attitude as he proclaims "Son open ya eyes cant you see? .. this is the game..

I'm playing his ass..that's my job! ... that's your job!"  Maybe having one of the illest scenes from the classic flick Training Day set the mood just right.

Then Advo comes in with a brief, but effective, energetic intro and then whaaalaaa .. just like that we started to hear the chemistry between these two artists.

Whiplash kicks off "No More" with a fire storm of bravado and cunning cliche's. Khaki Blue puts the icing on the cake with gangster lines reminiscent of the deathrow era.

This combination meshes well. Even though they look like Zack Morris meets Bishop from Juice, the music speaks for itself and adds a interesting profile to the tracks.

"Pay Up" and "Gangsta" might be the hottest songs on the EP. All the songs work well on the EP. One thing that may have upgraded this collabo is the unnecesessary distortion on some of the tracks.

Some of the song quality was pretty bad. It kind of took me back to a 1992 dirty cassette tape sound. But that minor flaw won't stop it from being a dope download.

There is an even amount of demonstration from both artists. The arrangement also works well. Whiplash devours the majority of hooks while Khaki kicks those smooth one liners.

Truth is these two artists working together brings out the both of there talents in both of there artistry. We are looking forward to a possible album after hearing the EP. Look for the EP download in the near future.
