Tell our readers, where your from.. what's your home-state, country ? I was born in Harlem, New York, USA but I am Representing Greensboro, NC, USA

Where did your stage name originate from ?

My name is Ron and I’m young…

What is it like for you as an artist day to day typically ? I get on my grind from the minute I wake up til the minute I go to bed…constantly creating new music, listening to beats, promoting and marketing myself.

Other than music what do you do to pay the bills ? I am an artist so I do some painting and book illustration. I also cut hair.

What are some of your hobbies and extracurricular activities you enjoy ? Watching and playing basketball. I enjoy working out at the gym and going out partying.

What year did you first become introduced to hip-hop ? My father, Ron G., is a famous DJ from New York so I have been exposed to hip hop since I was born but I really became interested in becoming an artist around age 7.

Coming up as an artist what emcee's influenced your music and intrigued you to pick up a mic and hit the booth and stage ? Mase, Biggie Smalls, Busta Rhymes, Eminem and Onix, to name a few.

What artists and people in your life enticed you to get into this business? My father

How would you describe your presence in the studio when your laying down tracks, do you consider yourself versatile when it comes to a wide range of styles, or do you stick to a certain method when it comes to your delivery and execution ? I am very versatile.

What Artists, Disc Jockeys, Producers are you currently working with? 3D Beatz, Big A, Genyus Beats, Aaron Reid (Aaron Alexander), Superstar O, Madd Miggity, Graffiti Fresh, E-Pilz, Styles J,  Dj Pac Man, Noah O, Cash flow, DJ Ron G, Fire Marshall Skrillz, Sista 1, Anonamys, P Wall, J Rich, Sincere, Chris Chase, and plenty more.

If you had the pick of any artist(s) to spit a 16 bar verse on a collaborative track what artist(s) would you choose and why ? I would have to say Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Eminem…these are the guys that set the bar high in the industry.

Tell us about your most recently released  project and your current project that's in the works, when is it set for release and what agencies are you choosing for promotion and distribution ? My last mixtape, F.I.M.A, which stands for “Fame is My Antidote”, is my most recent project.  I am currently working on the production of 5 new videos for songs on that mixtape, and I am always creating new music.

What one reason would your fan base express that separates you from the normal mainstream recording artist? I am real and live a life that is consistent with what I portray in my music.

What was your most recent gig / show, what shows do you currently have lined up? In early October, 2011, I opened up for Yelawolf’s artist, Ritz, at Green Street in Greensboro, NC.  On Jan 7, 2012, I will be opening for Big Daddy Kane at Ziggy’s in Winston-Salem, NC.

What's currently in your iPod / Android / Mp3 Player play list ? A lot of instrumentals to create new tracks, Drake, Eminem, Meek Mills

What’s your formula when you come up with the concepts for your tracks, when you hit the studio do you record your material off the top or do you use notes as a reference ? I like to do songs that I automatically have a visual for in my mind.  If I don’t have a vision for it, I don’t see recording a song in the booth. When in the studio, I both record off the top and use notes as a reference, depending on the track.

Where do you see yourself and your career in the industry in the next 5 years ? I believe I can be on the Top 20 Billboard , Top 5 New Upcoming Artists, also crossing over to different genres of music as well.

Where do you see the industry in 5 years ? I don’t know, the industry changes so much.  I see great beats and music always being around but it will be more about talent.

If you had to choose one track that will have HipHop.Org readers hooked, which track would it be ? “Boom”

Do you have any final words, shout outs, etc for our community..? I want to shout out to the North Carolina movement and New York City.  My management and street team, producers, videographers I have shot with, radio stations spinning my tracks and my friends and family who have and continue to support me.

Owl -
