Tell our readers, where your from..
Thadd Williams:
Born and raised in Columbia, SC…I now reside in Newport News VA

Where did your name originate from?
Thadd Williams: Thadd Williams is my real name. I wanted to keep my persona honest and free of gimmicks.

What is a typical day like for you?
Thadd Williams: A typical day would be waking up, going to school, then work, and I usually stay up late writing, recording, or taking care of the business side of things for the music. In addition to doing all that I’m constantly brainstorming. We don’t sleep!

Other then music what do you do to make that paper?
Thadd Williams: I am currently enlisted in the military. I’m actually overseas as we speak fighting for the country. I’ll be home in a couple weeks then it’s back to the grind. Big shout out to all my US Troops!!

When did you first become introduced to hip-hop?
Thadd Williams: I was actually introduced to Hip Hop at a really young age, I would say around 3 or 4. My aunt was a big LL Cool J, Kurtis Blow, and Run DMC fan. I didn’t start rapping until age 10, I’ve been in love with it ever since.

Coming up who were your influences in music?
Thadd Williams: Bone Thugs-n-harmony is the reason I started rapping. At the time I was intrigued with their fast delivery. Wu-Tang was another huge influence for me. As I got older, guys like DMX, Jadakiss, Bun B, Fabolous, Joe Budden, T.I, and Ludacris were influences.

What artists/people in your life intrigued you to get into the business?
Thadd Williams: I used to battle rap, so I don’t think it was any one person that inspired to pursue music. I kind of made that decision from the reaction and feedback that I received from people who heard me. It wasn’t about until age 16 when it hit me that I could successful at this.

How would you describe your style?
Thadd Williams: It’s very versatile, being from South Carolina. I get a different reaction because I’m a lyricist. So when you hear my material you can hear more of an east coast influence. I don’t have a southern drawl when I speak so you’re not going to hear that in my music. My style is very refreshing.

What artists are you currently working with?
Thadd Williams: I’m currently working with a few big artists. I have a mixtape that I’m releasing 4th quarter entitled “Homecoming” so I really don’t want to let the cat out of the bag just yet. Just know that we’re making great music in the process.

Who would you enjoy to work with?
Thadd Williams: I would enjoy working with anyone who shares the same passion and has the same hunger as me. It doesn’t matter if they’re industry or independent, just as long as the music is timeless I’m good.

What one reason would your fans say separates you from the norm?
Thadd Williams: I think my fans would say my individual story separates me from the norm. As an artist I’m comfortable in my own skin. When I’m in a creative space I reach from experiences that I’ve went through. So that by default separates me because I’m giving you Thadd Williams straight no chaser.

What's currently in your CD/MP3 player?
Thadd Williams: Currently in my Ipod I have guys like Meek Mill, J. Cole,  Skyzoo, Fred Da Godson, Emilio Rojas, Drake, and this kid named Rush out of Delaware. These guys are hungry right now and it’s inspirational.

Whats your view points on today's artists?
Thadd Williams: I really can’t speak for the average artist because I really don’t pay attention. I mean no disrespect, I’m just so focused on expanding my brand that I almost get tunnel vision to what’s going on out here. I stay in the loop and I’m aware but, if anything separates me it would be the sense of urgency that I move with. Second would be the adapt and overcome attitude. It’s more than one way to get things accomplished.

Where do you see yourself in the industry in the next 5 years?
Thadd Williams: I see myself as one of the top artists in rap. That’s what I’m working towards, to be accepted as one of the new faces of Hip Hop.

Where do you see the industry in 5 to 10 years?
Thadd Williams: I see the industry going completely digital in the next 5 to 10 years. Technology is constantly evolving and changing so I see hip hop taking over on a global scale. It’s already happening as we speak.

If you had to choose one track that will have HipHop.Org readers hooked, which track would it be?
Thadd Williams: I would tell HipHop.org readers to check out my street single “Kill Switch” featuring Rush & KoKayn. I think it has that raw edge to it that real hip hop fans can appreciate. Also check out  my single “Center of Attention” the radio will love that one.

Do you have any final words, shoutouts, etc for our community..?
Thadd Williams: First of all big shout out to the HipHop.org family, shout out to the Carolinas and Virginia for making me the artist that I am today. Shout out to my team members 5 Star P, KoKayn, and Rush. Fourth quarter be on the look out for my latest installment entitled “Homecoming.” God bless!
