Stephanie Martinez is a rising star in the independent music scene, taking the music industry by storm with her national debut on The Daily Buzz this summer. Raised in a home rich with music, singing came naturally for the angelic voiced singer, “my dad is a singer, and he sang my whole life.” At the age of five she realized she shared her Father’s talent and singing soon became her passion.

Stephanie Martinez credits musical influences like Pink, Alicia Keys and Christina Aguilera. In her travels between Ft. Lauderdale and Southwest Florida she was recognized by Naples, FL 105.5 The Beat radio personality DJ Quest. After participating in an on air talent segment, DJ Quest quickly saw the potential in the singer and together they worked to bring her talent to the attention of independent record label Down Low Records.

Tell our readers, where you’re from?
I’m originally from Coral Springs, FL; I moved to Naples, FL with my mom and spent my high school years there after my parents got divorced.

Where did your name originate from?
I decided to use my birth name as my stage name, didn’t have a nickname growing, so when it came time to choose my stage name it was just natural to use my real name.

What is a typical day like for you?
Well just last night I was in the studio for 9 hours! Then I went to another studio to listen to more tracks. I’m always either in the studio, doing shows, or rehearsing for shows! Living life on the road!

Other then music what do you do to make that paper?
I don’t really know much other then music, before my schedule became studio, rehearsal, and performing I would help my Mom, she owns a business in foreclosed homes.

When did you first become introduced to hip-hop?
My introduction to Hip-Hop came shortly before 2Pac’s death. My cousin was such a huge fan of his and when he would babysit me that’s all we would listen to. He would make me listen to the songs and memorize the words if I wanted to stay awake past my bedtime. (Laughs)

Coming up who were your influences in music?
Artist like Lauryn Hill, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Boys 2 Men, Earth Wind and Fire. I’ve always been into different genres of music.

What artists/people in your life intrigued you to get into the business?
My dad is a singer, so music has played a big part in my life. Just being able to go to his shows and watch him on stage, I knew it was what I wanted to do. I would put on shows for my family during all our get together. No warning necessary, they knew it was coming Stephanie’s going to sing.

How would you describe your style?
I’m a very versatile artist, love singing ballad just as much as I love singing up-tempo club songs, my genre would have to be Pop/R&B.

What artists are you currently working with?
I’m working with my label mate Sho Zoe currently. I love being in the studio with him we have great chemistry. As far as producers I just finished up a song with Young Yonny, (“Say Aah” ) he’s an absolute genius.

Who would you enjoy to work with?
I would love to work with Justin Timberlake, and Missy Elliot, they are both amazing artist it would be an honor to work with either.

Tell us about your current projects?
Right now I’m on the road performing, and if I’m not on stage I’m in the studio working to create hot songs. Right now that’s my most important project.

What one reason would your fans say separates you from the norm?
I’m relatable, from the days when my performances were in my room for my YouTube subscribers, even now when I’m traveling all over to perform I’m still Stephanie , in your city looking for the nearest mall!

What shows do you currently have lined up for this fall? I’ll be opening for Carl Thomas in Miami Performing at ATL Live, Daytona Beach and more visit my site www.stephaniemartinezworld.com to stay up to date.

What would you say makes you different than the average recording artist... Diversity, I’m not trying to be boxed in as one type of artist I enjoy music; I could even rap if I needed too!

What's currently in your CD/MP3 player? Currently I’m listening to Eminem’s “Relapse”. He has always been one of my favorite’s I can rap every single word to the Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP, and The Eminem show, every now and then Carrie Underwood might sneak in the playlist.

What’s your formula, how do you come up with the concepts for your material? I work with my production team to come up with concepts for my songs; we throw around ideas from personal experiences and random subjects; just vibe off each other and put the pen to the paper.

Where do you see yourself in the industry in the next 5 years? I see myself growing more everyday, so in 5 years I plan to still be making music people are able to relate to. Hip-Hop has always been a huge musical influence, I see myself involved as much as possible with hip hop community.

Where do you see the industry in 5 to 10 years? I see Hip-Hop being the most popular genre of music, I see it still being influential in our society, and continuing to grow.

Do you have any shout outs, FU’s, Links, etc? Don’t let anyone bring you down, if its in your heart and you believe in your music anything is possible.
