Nova cez everything consist of two members both music lovers and both born and raised in the boogie down bronx. Nova grew up in a single parent home with his mother and brother. Nova's brother influenced him in listening to all kinds of music, from Wu-tang and later on Red hot chili peppers. In 1996 Nova began to rap and perform in talent shows.
He became known as a fast spitter and freestlye master. Later he would be known as a battle rapper. Management teams wanted to sign him, but no deal was reached. Legal woes, couple of stints on Rikers Island and excessive use of drugs and alcohol would bench him. That's around the time he met Cez and life started a new for him. Cez grew up with his moms, pops, and two sisters, believe it or not at a young age Cez was influenced by Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventures.
He shortly picked up the drums at 13, dibbled and dabbled until he got a hold of a guitar, and quickly started playing guns n roses songs, 15 year old Cez joined a band called blue haven, couple of months later his pops passed away, continuing to play for other bands over time cez joined a band called District 9. District 9 in the 90's was one of the biggest hardcore bands to hit the scene. Nova and Cez met each other under circumstances of getting there lives back on track. There tastes in music was a common ground of mixing genres.
Now calling themselves Nova Cez Everything for there names and the genres they cover. Now they can be found all over the independent music scene in NYC, winning countless music competitions and showcases. Nova's high energy on stage puts him in a league of his own, his ability to rap and do rock vocals amazes crowds everytime and Cez ability to play all kinds of music from song to song to makes them a unsigned duo to be reckoned with. Both coming from the streets in the Bronx are now ready for the world with songs about real life, the only question is, is the world ready?
The Bronx is known for Big Pun, Fat Joe, KRS One, and starting hiphop. Its not often anyone refers to the BX for a hiphop fusion duo. It's safe to say the odds are against you guys. Do you feel the pressure of going against the grain or are you comfortable with driving in your own lane?
(Nova) We love being from the Bronx and all the hip hop history that comes with it, all it means is that we have to be great and when the pressure is on we deliver. We love that we do what very few people try or don’t even think about doing, that makes for a open lane we are happy to fill.
We know that Cez plays the guitar and handles a lot of production aspects for the group. Is or has there ever been a time Cez picked up the mic?
(Cez) (laughs)…. Next question.
Nova Cez Everything. How did you get your guys solo names? and how did the group name concept come up?
(Nova) When I was in grade school a teacher said to me, you think you’re a smooth Casanova huh?, because I would get away with a lot and the girls was feeling me. So it stuck with me, until I started doing graffiti and Casanova was to long a name and Nova was just was evolution from that.
(Cez) Well, my goverment is Cesar, so that’s my evolution. (laughs)
(Nova) We came up with the group name from our own names, because we cover all genres, I feel I see everything… Nova Cez Everything.
Nova, what made you pick up a mic and get busy?
(Nova) I was always entertaining as a lil dude. I was high energy all the time and a motor mouth, so I guess it was natural (laughs). Nah, but I would dance like Michael Jackson, in the living room for my mom, my brother and I. As I discovered hip hop I was drawn in to how u could put together words and clever ways to get ya point across. I was a die hard Wu-tang fan so they was my biggest influence to pick up a pen.
Who were your main influences to get into music?
(Nova) Wu-tang, Kool Moe Dee, Michael Jackson, James Brown, Busta Rhymes, Nas and the list goes on.
(Cez) Slash from Guns and Roses and BB King.
Are you guys on a label? If so let us know.....
(Nova) right now we are completely Indie and collecting all our money at % 100, if something big comes along cool, but we like to make all our own creative decisions, because certain majors would not let us do all the kind of records we wanna do (and have done).

Any new projects coming out? Any features?
(Nova) We just released our latest project which was a mixtape called “One Mix Strings“. Which is completely free and available for download on Reverbnation.com/Casanovakane. We released it to let people know we are here and that we can truly do everything, a lot of the stuff we got now include some of the blacksuit movement members, which is a movement we are a part of that represents positivity and creativity between different kinds of artists which you don’t often see in NYC.
(Cez) Now we are working on the debut album and we have a few singles we are playing with that we will drop.
Are you disappointed in Hip-Hop nower days or impressed with it?
(Nova) I cant complain about the state of hip hop, I mean I used to but it is what it is, there’s some good music out there. It’s up to the real music lovers to find it, because the radio is gonna give you what the labels pay so much for. I wish there was a standard for your talent as a live performer because that’s what I love when a live show is just that, a live show!!
Name a Golden year in hip-hop in your opinions?
(Nova) I loved all the 90’s but in 2000 that was I would say the last year dudes really went hard, even LL Cool J had the G.O.A.T., Beanie Sigel had “The Truth” joint, Eminem had his second album and M.O.P. had two big records. I think there where more but that was the last golden year to me.
How would you describe your style of hip-hop?
(Nova) Alternative, I feel blessed because I don’t have one style I’m like a shape shifter in the booth. One minute a tongue twister then the next minute a could slow it down and get melodic and finish with some punch lines.
What’s your goal for the hip-hop game?
(Nova) I would like to spread positive and motivational vibes to all the artists and fans I come in contact with, I feel that alot of people sell themselves short and we need to really not limit ourselves and reach far. Our youth limit themselves cause the music reflects that.
Does your agenda include trying to change what’s going on nowadays?
(Nova) Some what, but I know dudes is hard headed or stuck where they are at mentally, but down the line, yeah, why not.
"Boogey Man" is a sing songy type of track. Its not a pop type of melody, but more of an underground experimental record. Do you think that most people will embrace that type of record or not gravitate towards it?
(Nova) The intentions was to make it like blues, but once we started laying it down it turned into something crazy. I would like people to look at it from a creative aspect and see what the lyrics are saying and get a modern blues rock feel from it.
Speaking of being experimental ....does it frustrate you that to get major spins or radio play you have to "party like a rock star”?
(Cez) At times, but I feel with the right promotion and the right grind dedication, good music can reach the airways. Its all a hustle these days and good music cant be denied if your hustle game is good.
Cez ... you ever play bass? Or any other type of string instruments?
(Cez) Actually I have, it’s a real good instrument but the guitar gets the ladies, they love a man who can handle a Les Paul...
If you had to compare yourself to any duos in hiphop from before ..who would they be?
(Nova) That’s a tough question, I would have to say, Outkast, because we do so many different sounding music and the flow of my rhymes at time are a little eccentric.
Ok lets ask some questions a bit out of the norm. But it will help the viewers get to know you guys better........Is the internet really the reason that the music is failing?
(Cez) It may have a small piece to an unsolvable puzzle. It’s the marketing of artists and the behind the scenes nonsense and the world as a whole is changing not the best. At the end of the day the majority of the people who know who we are are from the internet world.
Tell us some hidden talents about Nova Cez Everything?
(Nova) I can walk on my hands for long periods of time…(laughs) (Cez) I cant walk on my hands for long periods of time ….(laughs)
What is a typical day like for each of you?
(Nova) I wake up travel to my 9 to 5 with my headphones playing the next joint we gonna do as I write in my phone, I network most of the day. At night we do shows all around NYC, I get home 2 in the morning the earliest put some new videos on youtube and do it all again at 5:30am.
(Cez) I do my 9 to 5, which is construction, and pray nothing messes up my hands, then we link, hit up some shows and do it all again until we hit the studio.
Name a guilty pleasure ..
(Nova) I love to watch artists with egos like the the hottest thing ever and when I kill the stage there reaction when they know they cant match my stage energy and performance period.
Back To The Norm.......Name 1 song you've done that will have the HipHop.orgers hooked!?
(Nova) “Musik”,it’s a track that is talking about the love of music and what I’ve done to continue make it.
(Cez) The strings I layed down for Musik is crazy trippy, and it is so fitting cause its reggae like and nova is rhyming with bit of a west indian accent.
