Joseph Taylor aka Mr. October, born October 31,1982 in Atlanta, Ga.
Raised in Decatur, Joseph Taylor found out what the definition of unity and team work is.
After graduating from Decatur High, Joseph decided to take the road less traveled and join the army.
Joseph has always been a fan of all music genres especially rap.
During Basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, Joseph met Vincent Bryant, and begin free styling with him to pass the time.
After finding out that they both will be stationed together they decided to form a group.
Stationed at Fort Stewart, Joseph was working extremely hard on perfecting his craft when he got called to duty for OIF 1.
The deployment to iraq change Joseph's views on life and really pushed him to make music a priority. In Iraq he found future mentor/friend Nate "DNG" Huntington.
Nate showed Joseph the basics on how to construct a verse, different rhyme patterens and how to also create beats.
After a 4 year duty, Joseph returned to Atlanta ready to show and prove. He dropped I am decatur, with hits like "Let em Lay" and "Go Left" made him and instant hood star.
Joseph performed at local clubs in the Atlanta area. Later Mista October release I AM DECATUR vol. 2 with hits "From The A" "P.O.P" and "Obama Swag" gained the attention of major labels.
After dealing with the mixtape circut and building his name fore a few years, Mr. O decided he wanted to write his name in the hip-hop legends book with starting his own label "Goblin Music Group" .
Now releasing I am Decatur vol. 3, Available On itunes, Amazon, and Zune October 31, 2011 . With plans to release numerous albums from his artist, GMG vol. 1, and I AM DECATUR vol. 4

Tell our readers, where your from.. I am from decatur, Ga. Eastside of Atlanta
Where did your name originate from? I was born Oct 31st so I figured mister october would be suitable since oct is known for holloween What is a typical day like for you? I was in the army so I wake up early as hell.. 4am to be exact every morning. I go running at La Fitness, and lift weights for an hour. Then I head to cafe 19 and eat breakfast. After that I surf web for beats. I brain storm and jot down different ideas to tracks or metaphors, or just cleaver/catchy lines. I will then begin to write and write and write. I right 8hrs a day. Then after my 8 hours I look for more beats. Once I find something I like I head to the studio and spend the remainder of the day there.
Other then music what do you do to make that paper? I have my Own Cleaning Company WGCS (white glove cleaning service)
When did you first become introduced to hip-hop? When I heard my friend play a cannibus Cd and I was just amazed by his word play.
Coming up who were your influences in music? Pastor troy, 3-6 mafia, Hot boys, Oomp Camp, lil jon, Juvie Mostly down south music but biggie smalls and cannibus were the main Up north artists I listened to
What artists/people in your life intrigued you to get into the business? Pastor troy, I saw him perform live back when I was in high school. When his I Declare War CD was out and it just made me think like wow, I would really love to do that one day.
How would you describe your style? My style is Unique, I feel I can take any topic and write about it, thats another reason I go by mr. october cause on Halloween you can be anything you want. And thats how I construct my style. To be anything.
What artists are you currently working with? Mainly artist on my label: Lil Ced, Lala Monroe, Young Sturk, DNG, Terrah, Keesh Anne. I look at it how the hot boys did it when they came up. They really didnt have features on there albums. It was just them.
Who would you enjoy to work with? Defiantly Pastor troy, 3-6 mafia, Dr. Dre, Trick Daddy, Eminem, T.I. and Lil Jon
Tell us about your current projects? I am dropping “I AM DECATUR vol. 3, october 31 2011. It will have all original songs by me featuring my GMG artists. I promise you will love it.

What one reason would your fans say separates you from the norm? Because I can touch any subject, you will see that on my upcoming project. I my flow is very inviting and my lyrics are clear and understandable.
What shows do you currently have lined up for fall? Nov 12. at the World congress Center, Ga Southern, Sav. State, A few clubs in South carolina, A club in athens, ga.
What would you say makes you different than the average recording artist... People know me from my logo, The pumpkin with the A hat. And just how I rep where im from.
What's currently in your CD/MP3 player? Eminem, the slim shady LP... one of the hardest albums ever, and of course Mr. October
What’s your formula, how do you come up with the concepts for your material? I watch allot of movies so just something that happens in film, Quotes someone might say, a joke. Pretty much just everyday life
Where do you see yourself in the industry in the next 5 years? Running a successful record label GMG, and have 2 successful albums out.
Where do you see the industry in 5 to 10 years? Signing new talent, and making more amazing music.
If you had to choose one track that will have HipHop.Org readers hooked, which track would it be? Bad Bitches N Beamaz... I have been getting very good feed back from that track
