Hailing from the Ivory Coast, West Africa, rapper/ songwriter Moise Bently is a classic example of the spirit of raw American Entrepreneurialism. Driven hard by the checkered days of his youth in Wisconsin – and by the love for and need to support his family – Bently’s skills have been turning heads and gaining glory with racous speed in the mere year and a half he’s been rapping.

Bently’s proficiencies with rhythm emerged at a young age, as he learned the drums with rapid ease for the school marching band. Channeling his frustrations with being new to this Land of Opportunity, he was quick to become a competent master of beat. Inspired by the music surrounding him, taking from the good and learning from the bad, he began recording and self-producing his own music. Inspired by the classic success stories of moguls like 50 cent – Bently material is stimulated by industry greats – while focusing on lyrics that people can really relate to.

At only 21 years old, Moise Bently’s fan base is already growing rapidly – gaining his name enough attention to open for big players like,Mims,Pitbull,Asher Roth,Kid Cudi, Young Buck, talib kweli, Omarion, danity kane, hurricane chris, busta rhymes and ect . Further, Bently has hit the studio with the likes of Beatblazers productions, Trackzillas, and VH1 Songwriter of the year, Adam Marcus. Next, you can catch him at the 2011 Sundance Festival in Utah, where he lives with his son, his most precious accomplishment to date.

Whats good ...can you describe where name "Moise Bently" originated from?

Thank you guys so much first off for reaching out i tremendously appreciate the opportunity to let the viewers out there know a lil more about me. Moise is my real first name and bently came about the car it’s my favored car it has some fulgurous features i dream to own one so the name inspires and reminds me of working hard to achieve my goals u know.

For being 21 years old you have a pretty mature sound. You also keep your lyrical ability to a high standard. Alot of artists at your age don't necessarily do the same. Why do you feel it is important to spit like a seasoned vet rather then just dumbing it down?

well thank you so much for the compliment and appreciating my lyricism i don’t get that a lot because they hear the production and like the song and the style of my writing on it that they may miss the actual art form in it  so its great to hear that and to answer the question i believe it is important because everyone and their moms can "rap" but what actually gets you noticed in my opinion is content and intelligence to a certain point what i mean by that is that hip hop is very cultural so we use Ebonics and such but doesn’t mean we cant expand the listeners comprehension so i try my best on each song to keep it simple yet clever because i also don’t want to over overexert my audience mentally and i think that’s what it comes down to really is whom your targeting to reach.

With having origins from West Africa can you tell us what the hiphop scene is like over there?

its been quite some time since i left my home in Africa but with the internet you can always stay in the loop lol so i see some YouTube videos and hip hop has definatly expended there i mean i see some groups with the cars ,the girls and the club scenes in some videos so shouts to my people doing it big back home so i would say its the same culture as here for sure.

Do you think if you were still in that area you would be able to make it farther then the U.S., being there is more competition here?

well if i stayed in that area i definately wouldn’t be doing what im doing today ima firm believer in everything happens for a reason u know i come from the really bad parts of africa till i met my dad and saw a different life and he's all about education so either way i wouldn’t have had the opportunity lol

What made you want to be an emcee?

i just have always loved the music since i heard it back in 96 when i first stepped foot in the united states the culture and and lets be honest ima Leo so i love attention lol

Who were your influences to get into music?

music itself i think its safe to say its a language we all understand so just good music made me fall in love and wanna create it as well you know from the diddys to the 50's to the lil waynes' to the drakes, i wasn’t doing much with my life till i found out i was gonna be a father so that definately gave me the ambition of doing what i love for great finances to support those i love u know.

We heard that you can you play the drums ... do you produce yourself and other artists?

lets just clarify so im not put on the spot at these venues im just ok on the drums lol but yeah ive produced a couple of my songs but haven’t really gotten to the point of producing for other artists i do write for others tho i also just work with some of the best upcoming producers out there trackmills, teamgreen, majestic drama and now actually getting into another realm this producer named scott summers wow his sound is insane!

Do you think hiphop needs more live production?

i personally hear a lot of live production these days in hip hop but with my  opinion and taste i try my best to create mainstream music you know for the clubs and radios so having live instruments on certain songs can definitely change that feel but as for as performances i love em they definitely add that raw energy !!

Your record "In Love" is so radio friendly. You were able to make a song like this without dumbing it down .. how important is it to you as an artist to have good melodies and lyrics involved in every song?

haha yes so radio friendly and im praying and hoping it picks up so it can actually get those bds spins lol, its extremely important to me because i wanna represent myself as someone who truly portray emotions and intelligence in every song i don’t just do music just to do it i do it cause its my love and wanna improve as an artist and show that i deserve to be in the industry therefore im my worst critic i have big dreams and aspirations that i cant achieve without fans so if im out there just speaking gibberish i wont get anywhere so i try my best to come correct on every song and have a greater chance of appealing to every listener.

You sang lines like "When it's dark you are my day" on your song  "In Love". Do you think more artists should be able to write vulnerable music like you and still be able to be a man at the end of the day?

well first and foremost i believe as an artist you have to pick a core audience and create music thats appealing to them so for me i pick the girls and what does every girl really want?? its to feel special and feel an emotional connection to you so why not be vulnerable??it only makes sense lol the guys will always follow the girls anyways that’s just how we are im sure a trey songz, concert is full of dudes lol

On the other hand after recording such a vulnerable substance song you can come back with some bravado and spit "And I'm super duper fly/ you gonna run out of gas trying to catch my high" (on "Getting To The Money"). Is Moise Bently always that confident or is more of a pessimistic person in real life?

haha i actually um u know coming from Africa to the united states and moving to a place such as Milwaukee which is def urban ive had my fair share of being picked on per say, laughed at and such because i came from a different cloth so i had a low self esteem growing up and the only way to cope with it is by telling myself that i was more then what was said to me or the way i was being treated which turned into confidence that stuck with me over the years sometimes mistaken for arrogance because were very judgmental not knowing what the other person has been thru and why they are a certain way you know but by the same token those experiences also humbled me .i used to be very pessimistic i believe we all are at some point because we always miss the things in front of us we should be grateful for so now i always make sure to count my many blessings and thank the man upstairs when i get discouraged.

Utah isn't mentioned at all when speaking on hiphop ... how is the scene there?

no its not and it saddens me because there are a lot of talent hip hop wise in that state for sure its being slept on because there's not a lot of minorities and religion is huge in that state but ud be surprise i love this state and to be a 100% honest with you anything that goes on where your from it happens here as well this state is very mis concepted. the scene here is very hard most importantly because we dont have the support that we should as artists like im blessed to have a couple fans cause you have no idea how much harder it is actually to pull this off based in Utah i mean u have the religion factor that tells your audience they shouldn’t be listening to what you create and also your not taken seriously because the state isn’t considered "urban" the local radios as well have showed love to a few but they also find the scene here comical therefore do not really give a chance to the deserving and people that actually create better material then what they have played in the past its extremely political but hey look im on this interview for a reason so im just doing me and hope all fall into place sometime as long as my fans know that im doing it for them and their love and support means most to me.

Are you going to be the first to put it on the map?

i hope so lol im doing everything i possibly can to make it happen and bring the respect i think we deserve here and open the door for others .

What notable works have you released to date that really solidify your artistry?

Last year I released a song called cant let you go that was voted a hit on the radio and not that having that means your song is great but still to this day I have all types of listeners that still appreciate the song so for me to be able to reach out to different demographics solidifies my art.

We read on one of your past interviews you had a few major labels showing interest ..is there anything that you want to announce here with hiphop.org as of yet?

no just that im still testing free agency so any a&rs and labels reading this lets get in touch and make great music and finances lol just looking for the right home and people behind me to help me reach the stars and pass it !

What's the next big product you are going to drop? and when?

my ep which will be dropping were looking at this December just putting the finishing touches on it and itll be available!!

You have no problem getting on stage with the best of them and bringing that intensity ... how vital do you think it is to have a great live show in 2010?

i think its very vital its one thing to create good music in the studio but it is your job as an artist to bring that to life for your fans or you lose em everything we do in life is based on referrals why not give it your all and treat every show as your last to put your blood and soul into it you know i respect my fans enough to not give em anything less then a 110% because guess what?? they keep me employed and bring more fans with them next time because of your reputation.

Here at HipHop.org we like to ask our features some questions that really are out of the norm.We do this because it gives the fans a broader outlook on you.So lets get it cracking .... Who is a better artist 50 Cent Or Jay Z?

in my opinion 50 cent once again opinion im entitled to it to those that may not like this answer lol i just think a 50 concert is more hits then a mayweather fight real talk but dont take anything away from jay as i believe his a genius as well.

Who is a better entrepreneur 50 Cent or Jay Z?

once again 50 cent because jay has been in the game far longer and 50 was able to surpass his wealth ( based on Forbes all time list of richest rappers) i believe master p was number 1 50 2 and jay 3rd so it only shows who’s better when jay has been in the game far longer but please let it be known that i respect jay to the fullest musically and we all know he's a monster business wise they both have paved the way for hiphop to be more then just the music.

Do you agree that TI should go back to jail for messing up again?

honestly no because i dont believe that was such a big deal i mean he didnt kill anybody i met ti and he showed me a lot of love so it saddens me you know cause he also has a great body of work i love to listen to !

Being you came from another country you can look at the U.S. from the outside in sometimes ... so do you think the United States Government is corrupt?

i was told to stay out the political views and all that u know i dont wanna get deported lol

If Yes.... was 911 an inside job?

911 was a tragedy i actually was in 9th grade when that happened and i couldnt believe what my eyes were seeing rip to those we lost but  to me it had to have been either that or airport security was extremely mediocre but i think both.

Back To The Norm......Name 1 song you've done that will have the HipHop.org viewers hooked!?

i have this record called swagamilli i think they will love and relate to you know cause we all have envious people wanting to see our downfall so the record is taking about me just being me and ur mad you cant be me you know

Thanks for hollering at us and in closing give any shoutouts....links to your sites....F.U.'S or whatevers clever
