Where you living, where you holding it down? Queens, NY

What is the significance of your name?
M.L. aka My Life. It’s my life, all of my experiences, all of my ideas, and all of my emotions transformed into music. The name is relevant to my own life.

When did you first become introduced to hip-hop?
I was in junior high school at the time back in the early 90's listening to Wu-Tang Clan, Jeru the Damaja, and LL Cool J. I grew up watching Video Music Box.

What artists/people in your life intrigued you to get into the business? The pioneers and the trendsetters in the music industry gave me hope and the inspiration to do the same. The ones who were bold enough to influence the masses. Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Ma$e, Nas, and Jay-Z were a huge influence to me just to name a few.

How would you describe your style?
My style is versatile. My style is natural without the artificial. “You will love my style”

What artists are you current
ly working with? I’m not working with any other artists but Me. Myself, and I.

Who would you enjoy to work with?
I would like to work with positive talents who are serious about their music.

Tell us about your current projects?
I'm working on a new mixtape (title not yet available) and planning to shoot another music video fall of 2010.

What single are you promoting the most?
A track called "Special". I also have a Music Video for this track Directed & Edited by Ol' Yella from 2 Da Moon Entertainment. (This Track is For Promotional Use Only)

Who producers would you enjoy to work?
It would be great if I can work with Swiss Beats, Kanye West, Just Blaze, and the Neptunes.

What one reason would your fans say seperates you from the norm?
I'm practicing the art of originality. I'm comfortable in my own skin and confident enough to write and rap about things that others can relate to. I'm willing to take on the challenges that I will encounter and manifest that through my music.

What shows/events do you have lined up for summer 2010? I have no shows/events lined up at the moment.

What would you say makes you different from the average MC?
I believe to be blessed with a GOD given talent. Through hard work and perseverance I will have what it takes to move the crowd. Plus there’s only one M.L.

What emcee's do you currently listen to?
I listen to Nas, Jay-Z, Jadakiss, 50 Cent, Fabolous, Lupe Fiasco, Kid Cudi, Mos Def, Rick Ross and myself.

What’s your formula, how do you come up with the concepts for your material? Each produced beats have different personality and can put you in a certain mood. I write according to the vibe of the beat. I get in the zone and a moment of inspiration kicks in. I get that "Flash of Genius".

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years in hip-hop?
I see myself as an established emcee in the music industry. I see myself making history as the first Filipino solo artist to go Platinum. Front cover of a few top Magazines. A few movie rolls.

Where do you see hip-hop in 5 to 10 years? Hip Hop is here to stay. Love it or Hate it. I see Hip Hop in 5 to 10 years will be greater than what it is now.

What final words do you have for our community and the prospects of hip hop?
"I Just Want to be Heard" I would like to Thank HipHop.org for the opportunity to be interviewed. To all up and coming artists keep good music alive. We need more UNITY and less hate. Give more of the REALNESS and less fake. God Bless... "This is M.L. aka My Life and its D Rebel Music all day" A Big Shout Out to the Philippines. Kadeers!!!
