His name is K.Y.D WORKS. Born in the Bronx, NY. The hospital to be exact, Our Lady Of Mercy.

K.Y.D.'s front door got hit with a shot when he was 5, so at 6 his Grandmother decided it was time for a move.

Westchester County was the next place. He started with poetry in 5th grade and at 14, spit his first rhyme.

"I am my music and my music is me" says Works.  "I have until June 16th to introduce myself to the world.

I feel I can shape the world and I know music is my tool to do so. I wanna invite this world to my universe.

I am K.Y.D WORKS." Now he is in Elmira correctional facility, dictating his promotions from the inside. It's almost like a caged animal ready to be released on the prowl.

Kyd Works is hungry, and ready to make his name mainstream. The first time we spoke with him from jail and he was just getting settled in, now its 8 months later and we wanted to   pick his brain a little bit more.

8 months is a long time for us on outside. What is 8 months for you like when you are in the bing? (laughs) The best was I can describe it is, being in a time warp. Some days go by in the blink of an eye and some days feel like a week.

Alot of people saw your interviews last time and were intrigued with your ambitions for hiphop while still being locked up. As time goes on does it get stronger or does it weaken at times? As time goes on my ambitions grow and I plan what I'll do step by step. There's no 9 to 5 for me even if I wanted it, all employers will see is a nigga out of the pen. I feel music in my soul, this shit is my destiny.

Advo told us you are staying focused and getting schooling in there. Do you think that would help your career once you are released? The more I know .. the more I grow. Music is a business and I won't be a fool for no man. I'm completing a business course and studying micro-economics and management. All of this will help and further my career.

Speaking of released when do you think you will get out? The end of 2012 or early 2013.

Is there any chance for an early release? 2012 is the earliest they'll let me out this fucking cage!

Is Elmira really as bad as they say it is? This is a Max A facility, I'm behind the wall. This place is its own world, niggas can get they face blasted and rarely a nigga gets raped. From what this spot used to be years ago, its calm now, its all about respect, if you give it you get it. Every man decides how they bid will go.

Not to keep dwelling on everything ..but if you could rewind and change time ... would you go back an change anything that happened so you wouldn't have to go to prison?
Not at all. Dig this, if I didn't catch this charge I would have kept running the street. If I did I might be dead by now. Where the fuck would my career be then?

Have you been writing any music in prison? I write everyday, it's my therapy and my drug. I'll have music for years when I touch down.

Would you say your craft has improved since you got locked up? Definitely, I'm perfecting my craft day by day .. rhyme for rhyme.

What are your future plans ... any mixtapes or albums? Mixtapes.. definitely as many as I can be featured on and my own. As for albums, I want my name in the roster of Digital Dynasty- The Album (Vol. 2), because it show cases artists on the grind.

You told us last time you recorded over 60 tracks before going in ... are any of them coming out anytime soon? That's a fact. Look for my name real soon on some upcoming mixtapes. Also look for my solo tape.

Lets talk about a few things off subject....How do you feel about the U.S. Killing Bin Laden? First and foremost, with all the technology the U.S. has and the 25 million that was on that niggas head, I don't believe he was just found. That nigga got what he was looking for and I'm not mad. Obama is a strategic master mind, he'll be in office another term. Now he needs to get shit done here.

Keep ya head up homie we see you! Stay strong and thanks for chopping it up with us .. give any shout outs, links, whatevers clever! Shouts to everyone reading my interviews, playing my shit, and saying "who's K.Y.D. Works?". Also my artist J-Clyde, the lost Dynasty and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I send my love to my family. See ya'll soon. Check me out on myspace, youtube,Ballerstatus.com, hiphoplead.com and most of all HipHop.Org. Major shouts to Tha Advocate for keeping a nigga in the loop.
