KOYTO is an MC and Producer from the City of Valencia in Spain, his Hip Hop production career has spanned a decade. Heavily known for his remix work and mixtapes, his January 2010 release called "Forth and Back" garnered him international attention. The mixtape which was downloaded over 3,000 times within its first week of release featured the participation of many artists including:

Declaime, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Braille, Aloe Blacc, Tableek, Tenacity, Green Jade, Masia One, Adam Tensta, Looptroop Rockers and TOX among others. The follow up release entitled "Forth and Back Vol. 2" featured collaborations from a more international roster of Hip Hop MCs including N’Dambi, Phil Da Agony, Sabotawj, Wildelux, 1773, Mouf Warren, Kohndo and many others.

KOYTO recently dropped the release "Aloe Blacc - Bootleg Through EP (KOYTO REMIX)" which contained four remixes, along with instrumental version, from Aloe Blacc’s album "Shine of Through" and a lost tapes, under the vision of KOYTO in the production.



Now with a new distribution deal with URBNET, KOYTO presents his latest production with a release called "Dr. Shrooman aka Black Triper", the new album of Dudley Perkins aka Declaime. This new album shows his great love of Mother Earth and of course nature in the form of weed. The album features vocal collaborations from MED and Georgia Anne Muldrow. KOYTO looks forward to a busy 2011 while preparing several upcoming projects with artists including Shabaam Shadeeq, Hezekhia, Phil The Agony, Nametag, Kazi, Sabotawj, GreenJade and more to be announced.

Tell our readers, where your from.. I’m from Valencia (eastcoast of Spain) Where did your name originate from? Is the nickname I used when I was a graffiti writer 15 years ago. What is a typical day like for you? Being in the studio recording people or doing beats; having fun with my homies and all that. Other then music what do you do to make that paper? I’ve my own studio where and I record people. When did you first become introduced to hip-hop? I started doin’ music in mid ’90 with my first group Lo Rap Penat

Coming up who were your influences in music? My early influences were DJ Premier and Pete Rock. I´m also greatly influenced by J Dilla but there are a lot of producers I like

What artists/people in your life intrigued you to get into the business?
I started with my bro Caliq into the business. My partner Toni Man have an important part of that.

How would you describe your style? I don’t like be intro a closed style. I heard a lot of music styles and many people have influenced me.

What artists are you currently working with?
I’ve just edited an entire album with Declaime, but I'm working on several projects with Sabotawj (San Diego), Green Jade (UK), Hezekiah, Shabaam Sahdeeq and many more

Who would you enjoy to work with?
I admire many artists with whom I’d like to work (like Pharoahe Monch or Q-tip) but there are many underground artists who do it dope.

Tell us about your current projects?
I’ve been in the production of the new Declaime album, and I’m working on a new EP with Sabotawj and my new album with artists like Phil the Agony, Nametag, Kazi and many more…

What one reason would your fans say separates you from the norm?
There are a lot of artists sounds the same shit. My music is not unique, but don’t sounds like everybody…have personality

What shows do you currently have lined up for this summer?
I have no dates yet for next summer. Now I'm doing concerts in my country with artists from my city, but I'm working most time in the studio.

What's currently in your CD/MP3 player?
The J Dilla’s Donuts album, Cee Lo, Oliver Daysoul, Big boi, Erykah Badu, some Bob Marley music and ’70 soul…to name something

What’s your formula, how do you come up with the concepts for your material?
The only rule I have when I make music is don’t use loop samples…I like to create my own music from cuted samples.

Where do you see yourself in the industry in the next 5 years?
Doin’ the same I do right now (but with more money..haha)

Where do you see the industry in 5 to 10 years?
Living on my savings, I’ll be too old..haha
