"If you cant get a Dre beat, get a Tre beat!!!"

While growing up in Orange County, California in the early 80’s TreBeatz never knew that he would one day have an opportunity to make music that would alert and influence the world.

In 2006, TreBeatz was introduced to the world of production while working as a Barber at Crenshaw District’s hottest barber shop, New Millennium. His craftsmanship in barbering got him into the studio cutting hair where he observed the production skills of Kanye West.

It was then he witnessed the ingredients necessary in crafting a certified hit! Intrigued and inspired by the creative genius of his influences such as: Dr. Dre; Timbaland; DJ Premier; Scott Storch; JR Rotem; Just Blaze; and Kanye West he began to frequent stores such as the Guitar Center to learn everything he could about creating music.

Tre began to take advantage of each studio session by mastering the various tools of production. With absolutely no musical background or training, he purchased a MPC 2000XL and began to teach himself how to use the equipment. It was during this process he discovered he not only had a natural ear for the music patterns but a PASSION! TreBeatz often compares the beat making process to mastering a new video game as “a fun and exciting challenge”.

Skilled barber by trade, TreBeatz traded in the clippers for keyboards and hasn’t looked back since. As Tre developed his skills and acquired more equipment, word spread on his production ability. In 2007, opportunity knocked on the door when he was introduced to Dougie Dee (Black Wall Street). Dougie Dee played a pivotal role in Tre’s decision to progress his production talent. Dougie Dee then introduced him to management of The Game. After a year of kicking it with The Game and no intentions of mentioning he produced beats, word got out that The Game would be retiring from hip hop after his 3rd album.

Tre found this as an opportunity to inform The Game that he composed beats and left a CD of original tracks. Months after giving the CD to The Game, Tre was invited to the studio which eventually unlocked the doors to the entertainment industry. After recording a few tracks with the west coast rapper, Tre asked what The Game thought of the songs they had recorded. Game, impressed with Tre’s hard work, responded back by signing him to Black Wall Street as a music producer. This only aided him in landing a spot on The Game’s highly anticipated junior album ‘L.A.X’.

With only two years in the game TreBeatz has collaborated with some of hip-hop’s most recognizable talent: The Game; Busta Rhymes; Kurupt,  Murder Inc; Nas; Heidi Montag; as well as New Jersey Devil, Clyde Carson and X.O. of Black Wall Street. When he’s not on tour with his Black Wall Street family you can find him somewhere honing his craft, patiently waiting for his queue to take hip-hop to another echelon. With hard work and determination TreBeatz strategy is to become the next elite super producer/mogul in the music industry.

Tell our readers, where your from.. Born in Compton, Ca. Moved to Orange County, CA as a teenager.

Where did your name originate from? My name is Tre… when people recognized that I was producing they started to call me TreBeatz

What is a typical day like for you? Wake up in the morning… take my 2 kids to school… Spark a L, and them Im off to my Studio for 8-12 hours a day.

Other then music what do you do to make that paper? Im a DJ… Clubs, MixTapes, Engineer. Mixing, Mastering, Im a hustler man… I can sale water to a whale!

When did you first become introduced to hip-hop? I didn’t land in hip hop, hip hop landed on me!

Coming up who were your influences in music? I grew up listening to Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, damn neae all of the greats!

What artists/people in your life intrigued you to get into the business? My Grandmother use to always tell me that music was my calling… I didn’t believe her til it actually happened.

How would you describe your style of production? I don’t really have a style of production, I can make anything from HipHop, R&B, to Pop… But my studio work ethics of a Dr Dre, or Timbaland… a PERFECRIONIST!!!

What artists are you currently working with? Currently I’m working with The Game, Menace, X.O., Kanary Diamonds, and New Jerzey Devil, all signed to Black Wall St.

Who would you enjoy to work with? I would love to work with Wiz Khalifa, Weezy, Drake, Dr. Dre, and Timbaland.

What made you want to get behind the boards? I’ve been in many studios.. and just made beats for artist. After the beat was made I wouldn’t have anything else to do. I started to watch Engineers, and other producers coach artist thru the recording process, as well as being hands on with the records’ mixing.

What one reason would your fans say separates you from the norm? Im a beast, I DO NOT SLEEP! If the money is there, I will work from sun up to sun down!

What projects do you currently have lined up for the remainder of the year? I have a few artist that Im working with. Trenseta is out of Los Angeles, J. Jordan out of Orange County, Ca,  and J. Skaytz from Yonkers, NY. They’re mixtapes will be dropping early next year.

What would you say makes you different than the average producer... I don’t like to email beats, I like to work directly with the artist. That way we can vibe and find a sound that we both agree on. I’m a Producer, not a beat-maker. Beat-makers tend to send tracks thru emails, and rarely get a chance to work with the artist. They also end up tagging their beats with their production names, where I leave it blank. If an artist wants to shout me out on the track, I believe that’s better than me forcing it on them with a tag.

What's currently in your CD/MP3 player? I listen to a lot of older music just to keep my ears clear. But currently Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, and Drake.

What’s your formula, how do you come up with the concepts for your beatss? Kush + Swisher + Liquor = HIT SONG!

Where do you see yourself in the industry in the next 5 years? 10x’s richer than I am now! I guess that means Wealthy!

Where do you see the industry in 5 to 10 years? Super-Producer. TreBeatz will be a household name. I want to change the game! Im a producer so stay tuned for the artist I will be dropping!

What would you say to the up and coming producers in the game? Learn your craft, perfect it, never give it up. In this game you have to be patient, but the same to time you have to grind harder than you ever done in your life. YOU’RE ONLY 1 HIT AWAY!

Do you have any shout outs or final thoughts for HipHop.org? Shout out to all of BWS, Young Money, and my whole production squad! 2011 WE ONNNNNN!!!!!
